Do I need to know how to fix cars?
Heck no! You are probably new to the industry, how would you know how to fix cars without anyone helping you get your start! We are totally willing to start at square one and help build your knowledge base and experience.
What does an Entry Level Technician do?
Short answer ALOT. At Tim’s the entry level technician is shown how to safely operate all shop equipment. Entry Level Technicians work through every aspect of being a technician one responsibility at a time ensuring you have mastered every step along the way. You will start with learning how to remove and replace tires and maintain all of our fluid exchange equipment. Learning how the machines operate will greatly help you in the near future when you become the person learning how to perform the fluid exchanges. The next step is a big one. You will learn how to safely rack a vehicle and do the Tim’s Full Digital Vehicle Inspection. Mastering the digital vehicle inspection not only makes you a rockstar inspector and able to communicate vehicles needs straight to our clients, but it also familiarizes you with all of the different systems on a modern vehicle. After you have mastered the inspection, you now will begin learning how to perform all of the preventative maintenance services we offer. This will further your knowledge base of vehicle systems and how they work together. As your abilities and knowledge grow we will introduce different repairs, starting with brakes and suspension to help you improve your knowledge base.
While you are learning all of these great skills you have the peace of mind knowing that you are in a safe and friendly work environment where you can ask questions to anyone. We do lunch and learn every other week where we all eat together and focus on one specific vehicle system to train on. Everyone learns at a different pace and we would prefer you being comfortable that you mastered the skill instead of pressuring you to move on to the next step. We are all a team at Tim’s. How much will I make?
Entry level Technicians like all people on our team will make a competitive wage based on their level of experience. As your experience grows… so does your earning. Entry level technicians do participate in our performance bonus program. We offer a monthly bonus to the whole team for hitting goals.
