If you are a Toyota driver you may have noticed an amber light that says MAINT REQD on your dash. MAINT REQD is an abbreviation for Maintenance Required, this light comes on in most Toyota and Lexus vehicles once every 5,000 miles. It is your Toyota or Lexus’ way of saying, “it’s time for a checkup!”

Can I just turn the light off myself?
Of course you can! All Lexus and Toyota maintenance light resets do not require special tools. We do not recommend resetting your Toyota maintenance light without completing the necessary maintenance. Turning off your MAINT REQD light without servicing your car is essentially disabling the maintenance reminder system of your vehicle.
