Preparing for a roadside emergency can help you help yourself or someone else! Here are 5 things Tim’s recommends keeping in your vehicle to prepare for an emergency.
1) First Aid Kit
A first aid kit stored in a safe place in your vehicle could be a life saver! Your preparation can help with everything from a scraped knee to a medical emergency.
2) Spare tire, jack, and lug wrench
While many new vehicles do not come with a spare tire we still believe it is best practice to have a spare with you. Even if you are not able to change a tire it is a good idea to have one so that you can get roadside help.
3) Jumper Cables
Jumper cables can be a big help to get yourself or a friend out of a bind. Please follow best practices and step by step instructions. Jumper cables can damage cars and in hurt people if not used properly.
4) Cell phone charging cable
Having a way to keep your phone charged beyond its battery life can be helpful. Your cell phone is your communication device, flash light and directions on the road!
5) Emergency blanket
Yes even in south Louisiana it is a good idea to have a blanket in the car. If your vehicle becomes not useable in cold weather staying warm may quickly become your top priority.
